SINGING IS VERY, VERY, GOOD FOR YOU

It turns out singing is something much more than just a means of artistic expression.

Researches are learning that singing, especially in a group, has powerful effects on the brain and may produce a potent antidote to problems like stress, loneliness and depression.  Singing in a group also helps synchronize the breathing and heart rates of those involved.

According to Ryerson University Psychology Professor Frank Russo, singing, more than any other social activity, seems to have the ability to generate feelings of social connectedness.  Studies also show people can withstand more pain after group singing.
